How to Propose Marriage - Help!?

I am planning on proposing marriage to my love, who is a beautiful Lebanese American woman. She and I are both Christian, but her mother is Muslim (her father has ped away). I would like to discuss the matter with her mother first, to obtain her blessing, out of respect. I am confident she will approve, as we have a very good relationship. Are there any special customs or prayers that I should include, or what would be traditional for approaching the bride's family with a proposal for marriage? I love her family, and I would like to do this in a way that would be respectful. Thanks!!
